Denver intersection keeps flooding; what's being done DENVER (KDVR) -- An intersection in Denver has repeatedly flooded over the past week or so as storms have dumped excessive rain in the metro area. The intersection lies just west of Interstate 25 at Fox Street and West 38th Avenue. There have been multiple issues with flooding in the area -- one incident included a dive team checking a submerged vehicle for anyone inside last week. Nancy Kuhn with Denver's Department of Transportation and Infrastructure said the storm drains are regularly cleaned, especially before heavy rainfall is expected to prevent flooding."However, because we have received so much rain the last couple of months and the ground is saturated, we’re seeing flooding happening here more frequently this year," Kuhn told FOX31. Drivers rescued from flooded Denver roads One temporary solution, Kuhn said, is to stage barricades nearby for a quicker response to block the area so drivers don't get stuck. Kuhn said the department is also considering adding signage that ...

Network now, clients later: Lobbyists are in Ukraine eyeing post-war contracts BRUSSELS — Kyiv is becoming a new hotbed for the influence industry. But that doesn’t mean lobbying is business as usual in the besieged Ukrainian capital. “When you go to government offices, they’ve got sandbags,” said Fabrice Pothier, CEO of the consultancy Rasmussen Global. “You don’t really lunch, as such.”Nearly 500 days into the Russian invasion, Western businesses are less spooked by the violence and increasingly intrigued by the money-making prospects in Ukraine, especially now that it’s officially a candidate to join the EU. And a growing supply of lobbyists is ready to meet demand from a range of deep-pocketed sectors, from defense and infrastructure to energy and pharma. The formulation is clear: Forge government connections and solidify your reputation with pro bono work now, then use that to show the prowess of your network when potential paying clients come along later. In some ways, Kyiv is a lobbyist’s dreamland. ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ is here. Here’s how to reconsider Taylor Swift’s transformative album

‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ is here. Here’s how to reconsider Taylor Swift’s transformative album LOS ANGELES (AP) — In 2010, newly anointed as a Grammy winner, Taylor Swift released “Speak Now,” her third studio album and her first without a single songwriting collaboration. Her 2006 self-titled debut and 2008’s “Fearless” had inspired both acclaim and criticism for her bold bridges and keen lyricism — these are masterful country-pop songs, critics argued, but surely a teen idol wasn’t responsible for them. Swift proved her detractors wrong on “Speak Now,” an album that arrived just before her pivot from country’s youngest hope to pop’s freshest voice. The album served as a close document of her nascent fame and future career ambitions, and now, 13 years on, it’s back. “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version),” released Friday, is the third release of the six albums Swift plans to re-record. The Taylor’s Version albums, instigated by music manager Scooter Braun’s sale of her early catalog, represent Swift’s effort to control her own songs and how they’re ...
