The Twins activated Buxton before Game 4 of the American League Division Series against the Houston Astros as an injury replacement for Alex Kirilloff, and he took one pinch-hit at-bat in Wednesday’s Game 4 elimination loss. Now that the Twins have been bounced from the postseason, the focus will shift to getting their players healthy — particularly Buxton, Kirilloff and Carlos Correa, all of whom spent much of the 2023 season playing through pain. For Buxton, a knee issue that first presented itself last year kept him from playing the field for the entirety of the season, limiting him to DHing. By the end of the season, the Twins had been talking about him returning to center field, but one game out there on a rehab...Wild recall defenseman Dakota Mermis ahead of season opener
