Santa Clara County sheriff says inmate attacked deputies with jail-made knife SAN JOSE — An inmate attacked two correctional deputies Sunday evening at Santa Clara County Main Jail with a knife, sending the deputies to the hospital with moderate injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.The sheriff’s office said the man exited his cell in the 6B wing at 7:22 p.m. Sunday and assaulted the two deputies with a “jail-made knife,” kicking off the “shocking and unprovoked” attack. The ensuing physical struggle went to the ground, where the two deputies restrained the man with help from other deputies.The two deputies were transported to a hospital, where they were treated for lacerations and punctures to their hands and shoulders. Suspect in April SF Tenderloin homicide arrested SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A suspect in a homicide that occurred in broad daylight in San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood last month has been arrested, according to the San Francisco Police Department. The incident occurred on April 1, at around 1 p.m. when officers from the SFPD Tenderloin Station responded to a report of a shooting in the 200 block of Golden Gate Avenue. One dead in shooting near Hwy-87 in San Jose Arriving at the scene, officers found a 52-year-old man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers rendered aid and summoned medics to the scene. The victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite efforts from medical personnel, the victim succumbed to his injuries, police said.SFPD Homicide Detail investigators responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
