ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Today's social dilemma came from Shannon. I've done this before, but don't like it. What about you? This is her email: Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! Hi Jaime. I have a dilemma I'd love if you could use it. I have two daughters, 19 and 21. They are both living here at home right now before they head back to college. It's been great having them home, and we love it. But there's one thing they do that drives me crazy. They both drive barefoot in the summer. I think it's dangerous and that you should always wear shoes...not even flip flops because they can get stuck under the pedal. I think it might even be against the law. They say no one knows if they have shoes on or not and I'm being too much of a "mom," and I need to relax. I just don't think it's safe in anyway. What do you think? I hope you'll use my question. Thanks so much.ShannonWell, I would never do it now, but I did do it when I was younger,...Ask Amy: A mom ponders her quiet daughter

Dear Amy: We have a 15-year-old daughter who is very introverted. She is happiest being home alone. She has a group of friends she has known for about nine years, and the eight of them often do things together. As they have grown up the other girls have branched out into sports and other time-intensive hobbies, while my daughter prefers to spend time drawing and painting. She will go in on group activities, but usually only if her one best friend is there with her.Otherwise, she prefers to stay home.My husband has a similar introverted and loner personality.I, on the other hand, like to see friends and family a few times a week.I can’t help but feel anxious about her not having friends because it reminds me of feeling left out in my teen and young adult years. She truly seems not to seek others out.How can I relax and be sure that she isn’t me and that she is content with being more alone?— Concerned MomRelated ArticlesAsk Amy | Ask Amy: How do I avoid my creepy uncle? ...Commission clears creation of a joint venture by Samskip Holding, Duisburg Hafen and TX Logistik

If he dances well to whom fortune pipes, the player we call Harlow the Halo must be descended from Fred Astaire. Harlow’s good luck is unending. Meanwhile, we think Unlucky Louie once collided with a truck hauling mirrors. In a team match, both Louie and Harlow played at five clubs; they ruffed the spade opening lead in dummy. Harlow cashed the ace of diamonds, drew trumps and led the jack of diamonds. When the queen appeared from West, Harlow claimed an overtrick.“If East has the queen,” Louie grumbled to me, “Harlow goes down two.”BETTER PLAYLouie’s play was better: At Trick Two he led the ten of diamonds from dummy. West took his queen and led a trump, but Louie drew trumps and ran the diamonds, winning six trumps, four diamonds and a ruff in dummy. If West had led a second spade, Louie would ruff in dummy and could come to his jack of diamonds to draw trumps.Harlow’s play wins a little more than 50 percent of the time. Louie needed a 3-2 ...Horoscopes Aug. 24, 2023: Rupert Grint, ease your stress instead of adding to it

Published Mon, 23 Dec 2024 17:54:17 GMT
AP’s dream college football road trip is back, starting earlier than ever before. To recap: The goal here is to map out a schedule of games worth traveling to during the upcoming season — with only two rules. First, we must see every team in the AP’s preseason Top 25 at least once. And second, the travel between games must be reasonable in the time available. Long drives are OK, but if you’re at a night game in Oregon, you’re not getting to SEC country for an 11 a.m. kickoff the next day.Safe travels!GAME 1: No. 13 Notre Dame vs. Navy (Aug. 26)Might as well start at the very beginning with the first FBS game of the entire season — in Dublin, Ireland. Brian Newberry coaches his first game after taking over at Navy following the firing of Ken Niumatalolo.GAME 2: No. 17 TCU vs. Colorado (Sept. 2)Hopefully the jet lag has worn off because Week 1 will be the toughest travel schedule of the trip. It begins with Deion Sanders’ debut as Colorado’s coach — on the...Latest news
