DENVER (KDVR) -- The Bandimere Speedway was once a drag strip meant for people to use to appreciate the speed and performance of their cars. Now, 65 years later, the family is relocating to create an upgraded racetrack.It currently seats 28,500 spectators and has some of the best drag-race views around the quarter-mile track, which has a cooling system that circulates 12,000 gallons of chilled water through 15,000 feet of lines. Did you know Colorado has one of the world’s best drum corps? BROOMFIELD, Colo. (KDVR) -- A man accused of shooting at a Broomfield eatery appeared in court and is facing a long list of charges including attempted murder.The 17th Judicial District Attorney said the alleged shooter, Kenneth Fairchild, is also facing several charges for incidents in other cities.Fairchild was formally charged with more than 30 counts including attempted first-degree murder, arson and illegally discharging a firearm.Fairchild is accused of firing a bullet at the Jus Burritos restaurant on U.S. 287 on Saturday. A bullet hit a window and sent customers and staff running for cover. A 25-year-old New Bedford man died Wednesday after a shooting at Myles Standish State Forest in Plymouth, the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office announced. The DA’s office said state police troopers first responded around 2:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a man shot with life-threatening injuries. On scene, the DA’s office said troopers learned the shooting happened after a fight broke out in a picnic area within the state forest. The DA’s office said the person who was shot was hit several times and was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess-Plymouth Hospital where he was pronounced dead. “This was not a random act of violence and there is no threat to the public,” the DA’s office said. CHICAGO (AP) — The National Weather Service said a tornado touched down near Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport on Wednesday following warnings of severe weather for the city.A confirmed tornado was on the ground around 7 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Chicago. “This tornado has been touching the ground intermittently so far and is moving east. There are additional circulations along the line south of O’Hare. Seek shelter if in the warned area,” it said.Video from TV stations showed hundreds of people taking shelter in an O’Hare concourse.
