Indonesia deports Australian surfer who apologized for drunken rampage JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) — Indonesia’s authorities on Saturday deported an Australian surfer who apologized for attacking several people while drunk and naked in the deeply conservative Muslim province of Aceh. Bodhi Mani Risby-Jones, 23, from Queensland, was detained in late April on Simeulue Island, a surf resort, after police accused him of going on a drunken rampage that left a fisherman with serious injuries.“Of course I’m pretty emotional, so I’m going to feel bad about it,” Risby-Jones said while waiting for his flight to Melbourne. He said the fisherman’s relatives forgave him and told him that he was a part of their family now. “I’m welcome to come back and even stay at their house whenever I want,” he said.“So, that feeling of guilt is definitely much smaller that it was originally,” he said.He was released from prison on Tuesday after he went through a restorative justice process, apologized for the attack and agreed to pay compensation to the fisherman. US Open in LA nearly afterthought with Saudi, PGA Tour deal LOS ANGELES (AP) — The toughest test in golf takes on several meanings for this U.S. Open.Tough usually starts with the golf course, and the North course at Los Angeles Country Club figures to be every bit of that, even if it’s a mystery to most. It has never hosted anything of national significance except for the Walker Cup in 2017.This will be the third time since 2015 the U.S. Open goes to a course for the first time.Tough for this U.S. Open is also just getting there. The storied club is located between Wilshire and Sunset boulevards on the edge of Beverly Hills. And if that doesn’t suggest big traffic, it’s about 5 miles off the notorious 405 freeway.“I’ve been to LA Country Club,” Masters champion Jon Rahm said. “I remember when we were there — I think it had already been announced that the U.S. Open would be there — and my first thought was, ‘How the heck are they going to fit anything around here?’ And second, ‘How are we going to get around the traff...

Moscow threatens to walk away from grain deal if export requests aren’t met Russia could quit a hard-fought grain deal as early as next month if its export conditions don’t improve, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin warned on Saturday, according to the TASS news agency.“We cannot be satisfied with how this memorandum is being implemented,” Vershinin told the Russian media outlet. “Barriers to our exports remain.”Vershinin’s remarks came just a day after a meeting with U.S. officials in Geneva to discuss the grain deal. Due to their role in ensuring global food security, Russian food and fertilizers have escaped Western sanctions over the invasion of Ukraine. But the Kremlin is arguing that difficulties in terms of payment, insurance and logistics are making it harder to export them.Last month, the agreement was extended by two months, meaning that, if diplomatic efforts fall short, from July 17 on ships passing through the Bosphorus to collect cargoes from Ukraine’s southern ports and deliver them to world market...
