Reklaws kick off CCMA Awards with beer anthem; breakout star Josh Ross leads nominees HAMILTON — Rising country singer Josh Ross emerged as one of the early winners at the CCMA Awards picking up the prize for breakthrough artist.The Burlington, Ont. singer-songwriter, whose hit single “Trouble” helped catapult him to fame, is the leading six-time nominee at this year’s awards show put on by the Canadian Country Music Association.His other nods include single of the year for “On a Different Night,” one of the categories set to be awarded on the live broadcast. Officer injured after several people assaulted at Kipling Station; man in custody A man is in custody and a police officer is hurt after several people were allegedly assaulted at a TTC subway station on Saturday night.Toronto police say officers responded to Kipling Station in Etobicoke around 7:20 p.m. after getting reports of an assault.It is alleged that a man attacked several people in the bus bay at the station. There is no word if anyone was injured.Officers arrived and took a suspect into custody. Police say an officer was hurt during the response and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.Police remain on scene. The investigation is ongoing.This is a developing story. It was a busy day in St. Louis as the Great Forest Park Balloon Race returned for another year of stunning sights and friendly competition.Dozens of crews signed up for this year's balloon race, but not everyone made it up in the air.
