Napa County supes vote to keep 'pro' and 'con' supporters off measures on ballots

The League of Women Voters of Napa County said they support a recent decision by the Board of Supervisors to keep the names of both pro and con supporters of local measures off ballots, though the chair of the Napa County Republican Committee decried the move. The supervisors on March 28 unanimously approved barring pro and con supporters for local measures from being listed on ballots. "The complete information about a measure including the supporters and opponents will still be in the information booklets," said League of Women Voters of Napa County president Bernadette Brooks. "We are ok with this decision." Elon Musk says violent crime in SF is ‘horrific.’ Is it? County Registrar of Voters John Tuteur argued that adding the additional verbiage would be expensive compared to only having pro and con supporters of local measures published in voter guides sent to residents, likening it to real estate. "The voters' information guide is very, very cheap real estate, you ca...Oklahoma Attorney General Asks Court to Overturn Richard Glossip’s Conviction

Citing the duty of a prosecutor to seek justice, Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond asked the state’s highest criminal court to vacate Richard Glossip’s conviction on Thursday and send his case back to district court. It is a stunning turn of events in a case that the state has aggressively defended for years. Glossip, now 60, has come perilously close to execution multiple times.“The state has carefully considered the voluminous record in the case, the constitutional principles at stake, and the interests of justice,” Drummond wrote in a filing with the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals. “While the state has previously opposed relief for Glossip, it has changed its position based on a careful review of the new information that has come to light.”The move by Drummond signals the possible end of a decadeslong saga that began on January 7, 1997, with the discovery of Barry Van Treese’s body inside Room 102 of a seedy motel on the outskirts of Oklahoma City.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The Pelicans have ruled out Zion Williamson for Friday night’s game against the New York Knicks but have stopped short of providing a timeline for how much longer the All-Star forward will be sidelined by his right hamstring injury.“After further evaluation, it has been determined that Zion Williamson will continue his rehabilitation and conditioning regimen,” Pelicans executive vice president of basketball operations David Griffin said in a statement Thursday evening. “We will continue to monitor his progression and updates will be provided as warranted.”The announcement comes a day after the Pelicans clinched a spot in the NBA postseason with a victory over Memphis that guaranteed the team a top-nine finish in the Western Conference — good enough for at least a play-in spot. New Orleans (41-39) still could finish in the top six and go straight to the playoffs if it wins its last two games and receives help in the form of losses by Golden State (42-38...Masters Tournament Leaders Cards

Defending champion Scottie Scheffler is three shots back after shooting 68.There was some question about whether Rahm, a three-time winner on the PGA Tour, would be able to regain his momentum after a rough March that included back-to-back rounds of 76 at the Arnold Palmer Invitation, withdrawing from the Players Championship because of a stomach illness and an early exit at the WGC-Dell Match Play event. But the world’s No. 3-ranked player appears back on his game after making an eagle and seven birdies.Five-time Masters champion Tiger Woods shot 74.___5:15 p.m. Brooks Koepka has fired the biggest shot for the upstart LIV tour on the open...Thursday’s Transactions
