A jogger had a heart-stopping encounter with a black bear and two cubs on a narrow hiking trail in Sierra Madre earlier this month.The video was captured by a California fitness enthusiast on Nov. 8.It shows a black bear charging toward the woman with two young cubs following. The bears can be seen following her on the trail as she cautiously backs away, attempting to scare them off with loud roars."Went trail running and turned a blind corner to find a mother bear’s head about five inches from my waist and her cubs a few feet behind her," the woman told Storyful, a video licensing service.The woman told Storyful that the trail behind the bears split, with both paths leading down the mountain. (KRON) -- Three suspects were arrested after a theft at Mill Valley Market Thursday evening, the Mill Valley Police Department said in a news release. Officers responded to the store at 12 Corte Madera Ave. around 7 p.m. when they arrested three individuals trying to drive away from the scene.Police discovered the suspects had a shopping cart full of items valued at more than $1,200, which included wine and liquor. According to MVPD, in an attempt to escape, one of the suspects used the shopping cart to hit multiple store employees who were trying to stop the theft. A man is dead and a child is in the hospital Friday night after a crash involving an ATV in Prince George’s County, Maryland.A Prince George’s County police spokeswoman told WTOP that shortly before 9 p.m., officers were called to Woodyard Road and Sherwood Drive in Rosaryville.Officers on the scene found an ATV involved in a single vehicle crash and pronounced the driver of the ATV — an adult man — dead at the scene.A child passenger on the ATV was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.Police have not released the identity of the driver or the age or sex of the child passenger. SEATTLE (AP) — The Seattle Mariners acquired infielder Luis Urías from the Boston Red Sox for right-handed pitcher Isaiah Campbell on Friday.Urías, a utility infielder who can play second and third base and shortstop, appeared in 52 games last season between Milwaukee and Boston while dealing with injuries. Urías missed the first two months due to a hamstring injury. He was dealt to the Red Sox at the trade deadline and appeared in 32 games for Boston the rest of the way.Urías, 26, hit just .194 between the two teams last season, but played in 119 games in 2022 and a career-high 150 games in 2021 both with the Brewers.
